I have circumnavigated the globe. Magellan, eat your heart out. Granted it was a lot easier for me, but still it is a fairly unusual accomplishment that I can now put on my resume or use to pick up women in bars.

I'm back in Boston. I've been here about three days now, and it's pretty much just the way I left it. Things change pretty slowly in the real world. I'm staying, for the moment, with my friends Igor and Heidrun and their new baby David. Mostly I've spent my time looking for an apartment and starting to work out some of the things I have to take care of while I'm here. Matters financial, automotive and residential consume most of my thoughts.

While my plans are not fixed by any means, I'm thinking of looking for work in another country, possibly Germany. I've been in Boston for a long time, and I think I'm ready for a change. There are some bad memories here for me too, that I wouldn't mind being away from. Bad people too, I suppose, although I still have many friends here as well. In any event I think it may be time for me to strike out for new territory. My trip around the world has made me feel more comfortable with the idea of living abroad.

For the time being I'll stay here, though. I figure a couple of months should be enough time to sell off anything I want to get rid of and maybe find a job. So I've found myself an apartment that will stick around for that long, at least. After that, we'll see.
