Last day at work today. Soon I will be leaving the FAST offices, never to return. Well, it's not really all that bad. Maybe this will be the last time I'll get laid off for a while. I brought in a bag so I can take home what little stuff I have here in the office - it's mostly cds. My laptop has already been decomissioned.

Everyone is walking around looking blank. It's sunny outside but it feels a little gray in here somehow. After lunch I will go home and finish packing.

It's the end of another exciting pre-departure week. With the visas finally straightened out, I turned to some of the other pressing matters. The motorcycle did not get sold, since the dealer I talked to only offered me $1500 for it. I think I got the procedure worked out for the car handoff, although I still need to come up with an alternate garaging location for it. I attended and enjoyed a party at Stefanie's place (pictures soon, I hope), and saw Bubba Ho-Tep the next day. I think it's good to get a little crappy American culture into my system before I head out in to the pop cultural wasteland that is the civilized world.
